... a different kind of school newspaper!

Hello and welcome to the T-Bird Times, the student newspaper / multimedia club at Northfield Middle School in Northfield, New Jersey. We are sponsored by the Northfield Education Foundation. My name is Kevin Jarrett, I teach in the elementary school (K-4) computer lab, and I am the club advisor.

We seek to empower student expression by harnessing state of the art multimedia technology and Web 2.0 tools. Feature articles will utilize many different types of media; students will be encouraged to share original writing, photographs and other works; and most importantly, students will learn how to present themselves and interact online in a safe, online environment. I firmly believe that it is our responsibility to teach our children how to use these tools safely and responsibly. We feel the T-Bird Times is a perfect vehicle to do just that.

Please check back often, the content of this site will be changing constantly!

Thanks again for visiting,

Mr. Jarrett, Club Advisor

Great job!! Shared the site with my enrichment crew today. They got a real charge out of seeing themselves & friends at the iwalk event. Took it a step further to share the Animoto program (and my version from last year) to plug the free download of the shortened version. I'm guessing that the program was purchased for the club's use? Will it be available for others at school or is it exclusively the newspaper's?
